Half-day Intensives

This half-day format is ideal for clients who are curious about EMDR Intensives and want to “dip their toe in” before committing to a full-day or multi-day program. It’s best suited for working on a specific, well-defined goal—such as a single traumatic incident or a key memory—where focused attention may provide meaningful initial progress or help kick-start the therapeutic process.

While deeper trauma work often requires a longer format, the Half-Day Intensive offers a valuable introduction to intensive EMDR therapy and a chance to experience the model firsthand.

This program provides approximately the same amount of focused therapy time as 3-4 standard weekly sessions, condensed into a single, concentrated session.

Focus: Car accident trauma in the first session; real-world exposure tasks between sessions; processing medical-related traumatic experiences in the second.

  • How Intensive Fees are Calculated

We understand that EMDR Intensives are a significant investment.

Considering the cost structure can provide helpful context.

A typical 50-minute therapy session often includes 10 minutes of check-in and 10 minutes to wind down—leaving about 30–40 minutes of focused work.

A 3.5-hour EMDR Intensive provides around 200 minutes of sustained therapeutic work. That’s the equivalent of 4–5 standard sessions—offered in one focused block, without the start-stop of weekly appointments, allowing us time for extended deeper therapeutic work and greater continuity and momentum.

At Lumify Health, the cost of EMDR intensives is based on the Australian Psychological Society (APS) recommended standard hourly rate for psychological services, $311.
