Rather than presenting EMDR Intensives as a rigid protocol, this course emphasises comprehensive assessment, thoughtful case formulation and evidence-informed clinical decision-making. You'll learn how to determine when an Intensive is appropriate, recognise potential limitations, and tailor treatment planning to the individual client.

The Lumify Health Intensive Model was evaluated through a pilot study presented at the 2026 EMDRAA Conference, providing preliminary evidence of its feasibility and effectiveness within an Australian private practice setting. Throughout the course, current research is integrated with practical clinical application to support safe and ethical implementation.

The Lumify Health Intensive Model was developed, implemented and evaluated within a busy private practice, providing practical guidance on the clinical, operational and business considerations involved in offering EMDR Intensives.

Rather than presenting a “perfect” Intensive to replicate, the aim is to show how an Intensive can unfold in real clinical practice, including the need to remain flexible and adapt the plan to the individual client.
Footage shows the therapist only, with the client's voice heard but the client not shown, to protect privacy while allowing you to observe therapist skills and clinical decision-making.

Structured client Guidebooks designed to support psychoeducation, preparation, reflection and integration throughout EMDR therapy and EMDR Intensives.

Preparation is an important part of EMDR therapy, but within an Intensive there is also a need to make thoughtful use of the limited treatment time available.
The Guidebooks allow clients to engage with psychoeducation, reflection and preparation activities outside of session. This can help make Phase 2 more efficient, while still ensuring preparation is individualised and guided by the therapist.
For Intensives, this can help therapists find the balance between adequate preparation and allowing sufficient time for trauma processing, rather than using a large proportion of the Intensive itself to introduce information and resources.
The Guidebooks also encourage clients to take an active role in their treatment, with opportunities for goal-setting, reflection and integration throughout the process.
